BAER TESTING
BAER testing is the only method to test for deafness of one or both ears in dogs and cats. BAER (brainstem auditory evoked response). The test typically takes only a few minutes and is performed without sedation. Using the smallest of needles causing little or no stress to the puppy. Many puppies happily stay sleeping while the test is being conducted.
Congenital deafness is recognised as a problem in dog breeds that carry the extreme piebald gene, i.e. those with a mostly white coat, deafness is also prominent with the gene that causes the merle coat colour (mottled patches of colour in a solid or piebald coat, blue or odd-coloured eyes.

All puppies / dogs MUST be microchipped prior to testing. They can be microchipped at the time of testing a service we provide in the comfort of your puppies home or you can arrange it yourself prior to BAER Test.

MICRO CHIPPING

Microchipping within the home environment is less stressful on the animals and save the inconvenience of transporting litters to Veterinary practices.

We offer a free microchip service with every animal that is Baer Teste.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Our Fully Qualified VETERINARIAN can attend the same appointment to Vaccinate you litter of puppies this must be booked separately in advance to arrange this appointment.

If you would like us to test your individual dog or litter of puppies contact us for prices with no travel costs for litters tested on route. Its cost effective to BAER test as we offer free microchip with each pup tested, which could cost £15 -£20 each at the Vets

OUR MOBILE CLINIC

AT HOME

No need to travel hours or long distances to have your litter or dog hearing tested. We travel to you. Minimum age for testing is 5 weeks of age (35 days). No sedation is necessary. Owner can hold their pups/dog during procedure.

Additional services include microchipping.

CONFIDENTIAL RESULTS

All test results are confidential. Two hardcopies of test results are provided.
